Aloha! I’m Karen Maeby the Boat Show Girl. I live in Gulfport FL with my hermit crab sidekick Sir Eisenhower “Houdini” Crabapple. I am completely in love with the boating industry (especially boat shows!) and have had an interest in this lifestyle since my middle/high school days where I spent some time on a friend’s houseboat on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky where I grew up.

PROF-CREDS: (1) For almost 3 years, I worked in the office at a service department in St Pete, and have been in this industry for about 4-5 years now. (2) Ever since Jan 2016, I have appeared regularly on a radio show called World of Boating (mostly when there’s boat shows or important industry stuff to talk about). Fun note: Eisenhower has also been mentioned several times on there. (3) I received my first media credential badge from Show Management while at the 2016 Palm Beach International Boat Show. (4) As of the end of 2016, I started guest blogging on Marine Marketing Tools. (5) At the beginning of 2017, I also started guest+ghost blogging for MoreBoats.

My personal time these days are spent writing {poetry, blogging, scripts}, working in the theatre {I just rejoined summer of 2016}, and getting my feet wet in the film industry. Some of my other hobbies include: photography, traveling, crafts, reading, music (jazz!) and graphic design.

I love the salt life, and live by the more soulful of Jimmy Buffett’s music. My soul becomes alive while near the water.
